Panjab University (PU) fellow and former Member of Parliament Pawan Bansal flagged off the two buses which would run between all the CRIKC (Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster institutions on daily basis.
The buses were purchased from the rs 1 crore MPLADS funds, which was provided by the then MP (2009-14), Pawan Bansal from his MPLADS funds for the CRIKC institutions.
The AC buses would start from PU and touch all CRIKC institutions via Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Punjab Engineering College via Madhya Marg, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Bio-Processing Unit (BPU), Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE), PU Dental College, UIET and PU. The detailed time table of the buses will be announced soon and the buses would start running regularly on these routes.
PU vice-chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover, PU dean University Instructions (DUI), Prof AK Bhandari, registrar, Col GS Chadha (retd.), PEC Director, Prof Manoj Arora, PU dean student welfare, Prof Navdeep Goyal, PU fellow GK Chatrath, CRIKC coordinator Prof Manmohan Gupta and a large number of research scholars and teachers were also present on the occasion.
