India medium-pacer Sandeep Sharma was adjudged the best senior cricketer in the annual awards function of the Punjab Cricket Association held after the association’s AGM at PCA stadium on Sunday.
Sandeep, who recently played for India and is currently in Chennai playing for India A against South Africa A, has taken 56 wickets in the Ranji Trophy, T20 and one-day format for Punjab.He was awarded a cash prize of `1 lakh.

Shubman Gill, who scored 1018 runs including five centuries and three half-centuries in U-16 Vijay Hazare Tropy, was adjudged best player in junior category and was awarded a cash prize of `50,000.
PCA also honoured the members of the Punjab under-16 team which won the Vijay Merchant Trophy.
The team was given a cash award of `8 lakh (`4 lakh from BCCI and an equal amount contributed by PCA).
The most successful coach of the year award ‘The Dronacharya DP Azad Trophy’ was given to Sanjay Mahajan, the coach of Punjab under-16 team.
The annual award of `6 lakh for the best district was won by Amritsar Games Association (AGA) with 14 points having won under-16, under-19 and under-25 inter-district tournaments and finishing runners-up in FC Mital Trophy.
While the second best district award of `3 lakh was shared jointly by Patiala and Jalandhar districts.
Two senior life members, Onkar Nath Aggarwal from Jalandhar and KM Saxena from Patiala, were also honoured with a shawl and a silver salver by PCA chairman IS Bindra.
Two former senior cricketers, Ranbir Singh Chauhan from Patiala and Ashok Chopra from Amritsar, were also felicitated with a silver salver, shawl and a cash award of `51,000 each.
