The Punjab and Haryana high court has extended the stay on declaration of Punjab Civil Services (executive) and allied services examination-2013 result till July 6.
The stay was initially granted on the appeal of one Deepak Bhatia in May.
Bhatia has challenged the single judge order, wherein it had directed the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) to prepare a list of successful candidates with minimum 33% marks in the general studies subject as a whole, not 'paper-wise', on January 8. The appeal against the single judge order was filed on April 10.
It was on December 24 that the high court had stayed the process of physical examination and interviews on the petitions challenging the methodology adopted by the PPSC to prepare the final list for interviews and physical examination in certain categories.
On January 8, the high court allowed the petitions and directed the PPSC to redraw the merit list. The two stages of preliminary examination and mains have been completed by the PPSC for the 120 posts advertised in 2013.
