Students of Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE) marked the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) week, and collected many useful items and products for helping old age homes, orphanages and flood victims of Jammu & Kashmir. The week concluded on Monday
Students approached friends, relatives and faculty members for help and by end of the Corporate Social Responsibility Week; they were able to collect about 1400 woolen items, 92 mattresses, 85 blankets, 59 single bed quilts, five double bed quilts and various items of stationary.
“I learnt the importance of being socially responsible by taking part in this activity,” said Navdeep Kaur, a student while Pankaj Jain, one of the professors, said such activities played a vital role in shaping the overall personality of students across various generations.
KNS Kang, director general, Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE) said. “These types of activities help students in developing their mental and analytical skills and also help them in familiaring themselves with the social environment.”
The corporate social responsibility initiative proved to be very productive indeed as the students made the most of this opportunity.
