“Fed up with the corruption issues of the UPA government, people were looking for a party with dedication and a leader who could pose a real challenge to the political rogue. This is the reason why people reposed a faith in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a party and Narendra Modi as sole leader,” said Jawahar Thakur, BJP district president.

He said this while addressing mediapersons here on Tuesday. He said it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership that routed the Congress in the centre and then Haryana and Maharashtra.

Jawahar thanked the centre government for sanctioning most awaited Pathankot-Leh railway line and highway that was most important from the point of view of border security.

“People in the state used to wait to hear the news of sanctioning of the said railway track every year during the budget session from more than five decades and Modi have done it in just few days,” he claimed.

Jawahar, who belongs to Drang segment area of the district and fought assembly elections against health minister Kaul Singh Thakur, refused to comment on his opponent leader but hinted that everyone knew the condition of health sector in the state.
