At the age of 11, when Gurnazar started learning skating at school, little did he know he would earn laurels in not just skating but also music, an art he recently found love for. With almost 80 medals to his credit, including three for winning world records, Gurnazar is also a five-time medal winner in the National Roller Skating Championship.

His first world record was made in 2010 at Belgaum, Karnataka, where he performed for the Haryana roller skating team and gained victory for playing the longest outdoor game (inline hockey) continuously for 30 hours. While his second world record was won in the category of speed skating for 30 hours covering 720 km, Gurnazar’s third world record was made in 2012 when the team broke their first record and played inline hockey continuously for 50 hours.

While the champ was a skating tutor for two years at Skating Public School, Kurukshetra, his love for skates was overtaken by love for music in 2007. Interestingly, Gurnazar went on to graduate in music in 2011.

Since the last one year, he has been performing as a singer at various college fests with his seven-member band called Green Chorus. Green Chorus was also the winner from Chandigarh in Channel V’s Nokia India Fest Launch Pad and one of the eight finalists. He performs with his band in the city every Wednesday at Satva, Sector 26, and on Sundays at 10 Downing Street. Gurnazar is currently working on his solo music
album.
