A Sector-46 resident was booked after his pet dog bit a 10-year-old boy on Thursday evening.
The victim, Jagdish, was playing cricket on the road when the pet dog of Satbir, who runs a taxi business, bit him.
Residents complained to the Sector-34 police station, following which Satbir was arrested and booked under section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He was later granted bail.
The child was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32.
Neighbours said the dog had bitten two people earlier.
