PGI dermatologist gets award for study on skin cancer.
Dr Geeti Khullar, a senior resident doctor in the department of dermatology, venereology and leprology, Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), was awarded first prize at an international dermatopathology conference 2013 held in Jaipur recently.

Dr Khullar has been awarded for her study on 'Spectrum of predisposing factors in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC): a tertiary centre experience', at the Conference that concluded on November 17.
The study was conducted under the guidance of Dr Uma Nahar Saikia and Dr Bishan Dass Radotra from the department of histopathology and Dr Sanjeev Handa and Dr Dipankar De from the department of dermatology, venereology and leprology, PGIMER.
Squamous cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer, is common in the West. Her study suggests that the disease in is uncommon in this part of the world.
