A general body meeting of Faculty Association of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) on Tuesday criticised PGIMER director Dr YK Chawla for holding dual charge.
In a statement issued by president of the association Dr Virendra Singh said the director of the institute cannot hold and have lien on two posts, including director as well as post of head of the department.
He said on his appointment as a director in accordance with rules, his lien on the post of head should be terminated and steps should be taken to fill up the resultant vacancy without any delay.
Besides, the association also discussed the issues including promotions, emergency complex functioning, housing, parking in the institute, departmental functioning, allowances and various other issues.
The association said the faculty members were extremely aggrieved regarding the dilly-dally attitude of the administration in carrying out even the simple day-to-day affairs of the faculty.
The association said lackadaisical attitude of the PGIMER administration, the general body decided that the administration be given time till September 15 to resolve these issues.
“If the issues are not resolved by this time, then the faculty will start agitation by wearing black badges, followed by protest march and other forms of resentment,” he said.
