The newly launched dedicated helpline for brain stroke of the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, seem to extend no help to the patients.
As per information given on the PGIMER website, a new helpline has been launched by the department of neurology for the patients of brain stroke. In the website, two dedicated numbers have been cited as the helpline numbers. The first number is 9914209697.
When HT dialled that number, it sounded 'this number doesn't exist'. However, another number 8872500500, termed as the hotline with a message 'Call if anyone is having a stroke' in the PGIMER website, was also of no help as despite calling repeatedly at this number nobody took the calls.
However, the PGIMER site claims the hotline number should be contacted to inform the PGI stroke team about a stroke or a brain attack.
