The examination for admission to postgraduate courses at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) will take place at 12 centres in the city on Sunday.

PGIMER spokesperson Manju Wadwalkar said all security arrangements had been made for the exam.

The institute said that entry to the hall will be permitted only till 7.30am. Besides, candidates will have to bring their roll number slip and admit card. All candidates will be frisked at the entry of the examination halls.

Candidates have been advised not to bring mobile phones, pager, pen, wristwatch, ring, wallets, purse, ornaments (earrings, nose-pin, bangles, rings etc) or any other electronic device. The institute said candidates with these devices will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.

Candidates will be provided with a ball pen by the institute in the examination hall. The institute had conducted an entrance examination for admission to MD/MS courses on November 10 last year. During the exam, the CBI arrested several persons who were using hi-tech devices to leak the question paper. Most of these were girls from Andhra Pradesh. Following this, the institute had scrapped the entrance examination and around 7,200 candidates from across the country had appeared in the exam.
