The Panjab University Pharmaceutical Society (PUPS) in association with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Panjab, is celebrating the 53rd Pharmacy Week at the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS).
The event will conclude on November 23. The celebrations began with a blood-donation camp, wherein over 50 units of blood were donated by the students as well as the faculty of the department.
On this occasion, poster and collage-making competition on "responsible use of medicines: role of pharmacist" was also held with an overwhelming response from the students.
Based on the theme "Pharmacy profession in India: current scenario", an elocution competition was also held, in which, as many as 10 speakers presented their views, reflecting the importance of pharmacists in human health care and evolution of this profession in the Indian Society.
They also presented views on the gap that exists between patients, doctors and the pharmacists.
A quiz competition headed by Amita Sarwal and Neelima Dhingra was also held, in which, as many as 34 teams actively participated.
