Pinjore kidnapping case cracked?

The police on Saturday claimed to have solved the case of kidnapping of 7-year-old boy from Pinjore three days back. However, the police claim left certain questions unanswered, as it was informed that the accused were known to the victim's family and had been taking the boy around on foot or in autorickshaws.

The police on Saturday claimed to have solved the case of kidnapping of 7-year-old boy from Pinjore three days back. However, the police claim left certain questions unanswered, as it was informed that the accused were known to the victim's family and had been taking the boy around on foot or in autorickshaws.

As per the police, on October 11, Bhagwan Dass, resident of Maddanwala, informed the police that his younger son Pawan Kumar (7), student of Class 2, was missing since October 10 from outside the house. The case was registered under section 365 of IPC (kidnapping) and four teams were formed to crack the case.

On Friday, the police arrested Pushpinder Kumar alias Kalu (about 40-year-old), resident of Maddanwala, and Raju, native of Bihar and presently living on rent at Barotiwala in Himachal Pradesh, and safely recovered the child from them. They were arrested from Nanakpur bus stand.

Kalu is a drug addict, while Raju is a labourer. The child's father Dass was also a labourer.

Kalu and Raju were living in Dass' neighbourhood. The police told in the press conference that Raju was quite poor and did not have money to buy a ticket to Bihar and Kalu needed money for drugs.

Both were remanded to judicial custody.

Loopholes in police theory

* Why was a labourer's son picked?
Kalka ACP Krishan Hooda said it was their first attempt.
* Why no ransoms call was made?
Hooda said the accused did not get the time to call the family.

* Why didn't the victim raise an alarm even though he was being taken around the city?
Hooda said the boy was known to the kidnappers.
* Why weren't the boy and his family not present at the press conference?
