The district police arrested three, key suspects here today and solved the case of the murder of a taxi driver here last week, who went missing and whose body was later found in an agricultural field at Jathlana, Yamunanagar.

The three accused, Shalik of Raipur Kalan, Soni alias Sandeep of Ambala and Monu of Kalayat, were produced in a local court today. The police have detained Shalik, the main accused, for three days. The others were sent to judicial custody.

At a press conference here today, superintendent of police, Kuldeep Singh Yadav, said that the accused had called the driver, Jaswinder alias Bobli, a resident of Kahrak Pandvan, Kalayat, last Tuesday to hire a scorpio taxi from Kalayat.

He said that they had purchased a sim card at Kalayat through a fake identity card to call Jaswinder.

As the taxi crossed Dhand on the Kaithal-Kurukshetra road, Jaswinder became suspicious and refused to drive further. The accused murdered him and threw his body in a field. They stole the taxi, which was recovered by the police at Rajpur Kalan in Saharanpur district.
