Even on WhatsApp, people have changed their display pictures posing with the mark.
This time, on social media party candidates were seen urging people to value the importance of their vote and exercise their franchise. There were numerous pages dedicated to party names and candidates. On these pages, the candidates were seen discussing issues concerning locals and hearing their suggestions.
Social media has acted as a tool in making the youth aware of the polls. Young voters, especially first-timers, were happy posting their pictures, updating statuses and sharing their experiences.
On Twitter, 'GetInked' was trending throughout the day, where people were talking about their areas and polling booths, clicking pictures and posting their experiences.
