Patiala: Minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur on Monday sought the intervention of Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal for providing medical facilities to all those affected by gastroenteritis in Patiala.

In a letter to the chief minister, Preneet Kaur highlighted the pity conditions of local hospital and said. "Apart from the plight of the indoor patients the shocking thing was the unhygienic conditions." She alleged that the government had not provided any medicines for emergency treatment.

She said enquiries made on the spot revealed that sewerage system in the hospital had been blocked for six months and the hospital had not procured disinfectants for the past five years.
