President’s medal for three SAS Nagar cops

As many as three cops from the SAS Nagar police have been chosen for the President’s Police Medal.

Superintendent of police (SP-1) Swarandeep Singh, SP Balwinder Singh posted at commandant 82 battalion and deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Joban Singh will be awarded with the medal for their meritorious services at the Independence Day function at Government College ground, Phase 6, on Friday.

Besides, the SAS Nagar administration will confer commendation certificates on its employees and members of the public. The achievers will receive awards from Punjab cabinet minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia.

Vijay Sethi alias Sonu, resident of Zirakpur, will be awarded for motivating people to cast votes in the Lok Sabha polls, while Shamsher Singh and his wife Rajinder Kaur, who run the Prabh Asra centre, will be awarded for taking care of disabled orphans.

Mohali Industry Association President Gurkirpal Singh will be awarded for planting 8,000 trees in Raipur Dau village.

On the occasion, the administration will also give tricycles to the disabled and also distribute sewing machines among underprivileged women.
