Prime accused in Gohana break-in held near Rohtak

Rajesh,prime accused in the Gohana break-in case where a tunnel into the Punjab National Bank strong room was dug in Sonepat district,was on Friday arrested from Bawana Phatak at Narela village near here.

The accused, who is from Katwal village in Sonepat district, was waiting for someone when arrested, a police spokesman has said. Himachal Pradesh Police in a drug smuggling case in 2009 and Haryana Police in a matter of fraud in 2011 have arrested him before. On Saturday, the police will produce him in court.

Eight accused in the Gohana case now are under arrest and the police claim to have recovered about 50-kilogram jewellery, Rs 3.73 lakh cash, a country-made pistol, and two live cartridges, so far. The ornaments and cash were stolen from the PNB lockers.
