NGO Garbage Free India, Chandigarh Chapter, in collaboration with department of education, Chandigarh, and municipal corporation on Wednesday organised a session on garbage management.
Principals and teachers of around 100 city government schools took part in the session, which aimed to create awareness about garbage problem in India. The event was held at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 10 here. The awareness sesssion was presided over by municipal corporation joint commissioner Rajeev Gupta.
The interaction involved a PowerPoint presentation on how to create mass awareness among schools.
During the session, students were educated about the garbage problem in India, how they contributed to the problem, what they could do to help clean up India, and set an example for people around them.
