A day after four major fire mishaps damaged properties worth crores, another major fire broke out at a garment factory, Venus, on Thursday, damaging property worth lakhs.
The reason behind the fire is not clear but it is learnt that short circuit could be the reason behind it.
Meanwhile, three fire tenders from the fire department swung into action to douse the flames after they were informed about the incident at around 9.15am.
Rajinder Sharma, a fire official, said, “Three fire tenders were sent to the spot to control the fire. Various machines, bundles of threads and other items gutted in the fire.”
Harinder Jit, general manager, Venus, said that the reason behind the fire was not known yet and the exact loss could be calculated after the complete inspection, but, claimed it could be in lakhs.
