On the 19th day of its protest against fee hike in Panjab University, Student For Society (SFS) staged a play on privatisation of education system at Sector 17 in Chandigarh on Friday.

As a mark of protest, the students also begged money from city residents. The protest started on February 24 with chain hunger strike against the recent decision of Panjab University to increase hostels, examination and tuition fees for undergraduate and post-graduate students.

The students' group also said one of the student leaders Raminder Singh was on indefinite hunger strike since March 12. "Authorities have behaved very irresponsibly and till now, we haven't received any response from the authorities,"said Arishdeep Singh, a student leader adding that they would continue with the strike unless the university announced rollback of increased fees.
