PU invites applications for photography contest

To encourage photography among schoolstudents, Panjab University (PU) has decided to incorporate a new feature in the form of separate photography competition for the schoolchildren during the university's Rose Festival. The theme of the contest is, "Ariel view of PU campus"and "PU gardens, landscape of PU campus".

Vineet Punia, director, public relations, PU, said all participants other than the schoolchildren would compete under the open category.

Interested students can collect forms from the DPR Office in the administration block of the Panjab University, Chandigarh or they can log on to the university website, www.pu.ac.in, or on the PU's official Facebook page, www.facebook.com/official.pu.india .

The last date to apply is February 2. The winners will be announced on February 6 - on the inauguration of the PU's Rose Festival.

A university official said top three winners will be honoured with certificates and the memento. The entry fee is Rs 50 per participant and one person can give two entries with each form.

Also, the top five photographs of each category will be displayed on the official PU Facebook page. The photograph print can be taken in colour or black and white, while edited photographs will not be accepted.
