PU invites applications for vacant BSc seats

Panjab University on Monday invited applications for vacant seats in BSc hospitality and hotel administration as well as tourism management. A PU spokesperson stated that the minimum eligibility of candidates should be at least 50% marks in 10+2 with English as a compulsory subject. Those interested should apply through registered/speed post/by hand to the ‘Director, UIHMT, Sector 14, Panjab University, Chandigarh 160014’.

Last date for receiving application forms is August 14 till 5 pm. The department will display the merit list on August 16 and counselling would be conducted in the University Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism (UIHMT) office on August 19.

The spokesperson also stated that application forms were available at UIHMT office and Panjab University website- www. puchd.ac.in.


RK Gupta, co-ordinator of BCom centralised admission informed that the third counselling for BCom Part 1 of Panjab University (PU) for city colleges would be held on August 8. He stated that counselling would start from 8:30 am onwards at the university auditorium. All students who have already applied online are eligible for counselling. Shifting colleges would also be allowed. However, admissions would be confirmed only after requisite payment of late fee.


A one-week faculty development programme (FDP) on “Health, environment and nanotechnology” started on Monday at Dr SS Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (UICET), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh.

About 50 faculty members from various universities and institutions are attending this FDP. AK Ganguli, director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, delivered the keynote lecture on ‘Nanotechnology and its applications’.
