Panjab University (PU) will host the golden jubilee annual convention of chemists from December 4 to 7.
The convention is being organised by Indian Chemical Society, while Department of Science and Technology, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, University Grants Commission (UGC) and Institution of Chemists (India), Kolkata, are the co-sponsors. The forum is a community of chemists and members of allied disciplines in the country.
The department of chemistry, PU would be the host of the 50th convention. A PU spokesman said that it was for the first time when annual convention of Indian Chemical Society was being held in PU.
The convention will consist of scientific sessions that will include several endowments and lectures, besides presentations of contributory papers from scientific stalwarts in the field of chemistry from India and abroad.
More than 500 delegates are expected to participate in the convention. In the convention, special sessions will be held in the memory of Dr Ruchi Ram Sahni.
