Lauding chief parliamentary secretary Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu's move to hold a meeting with cabinet minister Anil Joshi for sorting 'misunderstandings', Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma said he would work on resolving her MP husband Navjot Singh Sidhu's differences with others, including Akalis.
Sharma, who was here to attend a function of the central constituency, organised by party general secretary Tarun Chugh, said, "I appreciate the way Dr Sidhu took the initiative and went to Joshi. When we work together, differences do crop up at times, but by meeting and discussing such issues, things get sorted."
Talking to reporters. Sharma said, "It is my duty to work for unity in the party and I will certainly make efforts to get resolved the issues Navjot Singh Sidhu has with any leader of the BJP and also the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)."
"Navjot Singh Sidhu is an asset to the BJP and certainly the best choice so far for candidature for the Lok Sabha polls," he added.
The Amritsar MP is coming back on September 4 and that will definitely motivate workers in his constituency, Sharma said.
Earlier, Sharma told party workers, "People of the nation are fed up with the governance of the UPA. People have made up their mind to dethrone the Congress and vote for the BJP."
Cabinet minister Anil Joshi, who was present on the occasion, slammed the Congress-led UPA. "The union government has failed on all fronts, be it inflation or the rupee's slide. Even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has no answers to these issues," Joshi said.
"We must work together to ensure the NDA's victory on all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab," the minister said.
Joshi, who had a meeting with Dr Sidhu on Thursday, said it was time to set aside misunderstandings.
Party general secretary Tarun Chugh and vice-president Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina said, "A lot of effort is put in to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. That's why every booth is important for us."
