The Punjab cabinet on Thursday expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of BJP MLA from Dasuya and chief parliamentary secretary Amarjit Singh Sahi, who passed away on Sunday.

The council of ministers chaired by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal recalled Sahi's remarkable services for the all-round development and progress of the state in the cabinet meeting.

Sharing their heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, the cabinet described him a popular mass leader, who believed in clean and value-based politics.

The outstanding services rendered by him as a chief parliamentary secretary for the all-round progress and prosperity of the state especially in the Kandi area and the welfare of its people would be ever remembered by one and all.

On the occasion, a two-minute silence was observed.
