State Congress party has termed Punjab assembly speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal's decision to suspend party MLA Gurjit Singh Rana as 'biased' and announced to hold a candlelight march today evening. Atwal had suspended Congress MLA on Wednesday following a heated conversation between Rana and state cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia.
Earlier in the day, Congress party held a protest in Vidhan Sabha near Speaker's chamber for his biased conduct.
Punjab parliamentary affairs minister Madan Mohan Mittal was pushed and shoved by protesting Cong MLAs in the assembly when he came to talk to CLP leader Sunil Jakhar.Mittal along with cong leader Brahm Mohindra fell on the floor.Jakhar has apologised for the act and said that it must happened unintentionally.
Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal had suspended Rana yesterday following a heated conversation between Rana and Bikram Singh Majithia.
Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal also requested the Speaker to revoke Rana's suspension so that House can run in a smooth manner.
At the time of filing the report House was adjourned for a meeting to decide over revoking Rana's expulsion.
Punjab Congress also announced that it will hold a candlelight march today evening.
