Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Anandpur Sahib Ambika Soni reached out to the rural regions of her constituency on Thursday.

While addressing a rally at Balachaur, Soni expressed her concern for farmer and said, “Farmers have to struggle on a daily basis these days because they are not provided with the required infrastructure and facilities to perform their tasks.”

“There is a worrying trend that I have witnessed during my entire campaign i.e. certain issues such as poor link roads, unemployment, drugs, lack of facilities for irrigation are common across the constituency, ”Soni added.

“The underground water levels are receding. Thus tubewells turn ineffective and there are no proper backup options also. Electricity shortage is also a big headache for the farmers as without power tubewells will not function.” Wild animals were also a menace for farmers as they keep entering fields and damage crops, she said.
