Punjab govt accepts demands of aided school teachers

Punjab government has acceded to all the major demands of aided school teachers.


During a meeting with the delegation of Punjab state aided schools teachers and employees union on Tuesday, local bodies minister Chunni Lal Bhagat and education minister Sikander Singh Maluka assured them to consider all their pending demands sympathetically.

The delegation of the teachers called on Bhagat at his residence. The ministers acceded to the major demands, which included pay fixation of primary wings employees in accordance with fifth pay commission.

The ministers assured the delegation to consider all their pending demands with an open mind and to take up the matter with the chief minister and finance department personally.

Prominent among others present in the meeting included education secretary SS Channi and senior officers of the education department.
