Punjab resident killed nine injured in Kashmir

A Punjab resident was killed and nine others were injured in different road accidents in the Kashmir valley overnight official sources said here today.

A Punjab resident was killed and nine others were injured in different road accidents in the Kashmir valley overnight official sources said here Wednesday.

They said a motorcyclist Ajay Kumar son of Krishan Lal resident of Hoshiyarpora Punjab was killed on the spot and his pillion mate Diljeet Singh also from Punjab was wounded when an oil tanker hit them at Batengoo in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.

Diljeet was rushed to local hospital from where he was referred to SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in a critical condition.

They said one Mohammad Shafi Kaloo a horse cart driver was critically wounded when a tractor hit the cart at Plaza Sopore. He was also rushed to SKIMS in a serious condition.

A bus hit and injured a pedestrian Maqsood Ahmad Dar at Sonawar while six passengers were wounded when a vehicle in which they were travelling collided with another vehicle at Dudroo Srigufwara.
