Punjab to have armed forces preparatory institute for girls

The Punjab government has decided to set up Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Women at Mohali on the pattern of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute.

This institute, to be named in honour of Sikh warrior Mai Bhago, would train girls to attain maximum job opportunities in the defence forces, a spokesman said here.

This institute would be fully residential for students from across the state.
