Punjab to spend Rs 100 core on maintenance of heritage sites: Sohan Singh Thandal

Punjab government will spend Rs 100 crore on the maintenance and repair of the heritage sites and historical monuments in the state, said Punjab tourism and culture minister Sohan Singh Thandal while talking to media persons at Anandpur Sahib on Saturday.

He said that Punjab chief minister, Parkash Singh Badal was giving priority to the maintenance of heritage sites and construction of new monuments in the state. He added that the construction of memorial to Guru Ravidas Ji would be started at Khuralgarh in Hoshiarpur soon.

Thandal also said that the 350th foundation day of Anandpur Sahib town would be celebrated from June 17 to 19 adding that lakhs of people were expected to visit the town for celebrations.

He said that Punjab government and Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) had already assigned the duties to the concerned employees adding that there would be no shortage of funds for the celebrations.
