Wrestler Abdul Gani of Malerkotla in Punjab on Wednesday lifted the 33rd Annual Bhagani Kesari Vishal Dangal title, defeating Chandigarh Police's Amit here.
The event had been organised by Dangal Committee Bhagani in association with J&K Style Wrestling Association.
The first malli bout was played between wrestler Gani and Amit of Chandigarh Police. Gani won after eight minutes of battle.
Gani was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with the traditional silver Gurj (Gada).
As many as 44 bouts were played in the dangal.
Wrestlers from Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and J&K Police participated in the event.
