Rain lashes parts of Punjab, Haryana

Rain continued to lash Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday even as the minimum temperatures stayed above normal in most parts of both the states.

Rain continued to lash Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday even as the minimum temperatures stayed above normal in most parts of both the states.


Union Territory of Chandigarh received rainfall of 5.2 mm hile it recorded its minimum at 10.8 degrees Celsius, MeT department report said.

Among other places in Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala received rainfall of 29.1 mm and 5.7 mm respectively while their minimums were recorded at 12.7 and 11 degrees Celsius respectively.

Amritsar's low settled at 12.8 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal.

In neighbouring Haryana, Ambala and Karnal were lashed by 9 mm and 4 mm of rainfall respectively while their minimums were recorded at 10.3 and 12.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

The minimum temperatures at Hisar, Narnaul, and Bhiwani settled at 9, 9.2 and 12 degrees Celsius respectively.

The maximum temperatures in most parts of Punjab and Haryana yesterday settled between 15 and 21 degrees Celsius.
