Rains lashed many places of Punjab and Haryana today with minimum temperature witnessing a slight increase.
Chandigarh was lashed with 7.3 mm of rain and temperature settled at 12.4 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, the met official said.
Amritsar registered temperature was as low as 11.4 degrees Celsius, with the rise in four degrees and received rainfall of 6.6 mm. Ludhiana, too, recorded four degrees above normal low at 12.6 degree Celsius with the rainfall of 7.2 mm.
Patiala's minimum temperature settled at 12.1 degrees Celsius, up by three notches while the town was lashed with 6.2 mm of rain.
Among other places in Punjab that were lashed by rain included Mohali, Phagwara, Madhopur and Hoshiarpur.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded as low as 11.8 deg C, up three notches and received a rainfall of 5.7 mm.
Hisar's minimum settled at 13.5 degrees Celsius, up with three notches, while the town got a rainfall of 5.8 mm. Karnal, was lashed with 9.4 mm of rains, and recorded a low of 12.8 degrees Celsius, with increase in three degrees.
Bhiwani was lashed with 9 mm of rain and the low settled at 13 degrees Celsius, up with four degrees, while Narnaul's low settled at 11 degrees Celsius, up by two notches.
Among other places in Haryana that were lashed by rains included Panchkula, Kalka, Yamunanagar, Sonepat and Kurukshetra.
The official attributed present change in weather condition to Western Disturbances over North Pakistan and other neighbors and to Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation which was active at Central Pakistan adjoining Rajasthan.
