Rainiest March in five years

It rained again on Monday, lowering the temperature in the city considerably. This has been an abnormal month of March and the city has witnesses 63 mm of rain so far, the most after the March in 2007 at 137.3 mm.

The weatherman said that that a low-pressure region had developed over the area, which had originated from Rajasthan.

The maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 20.5 celsius, nine notches lower than Sunday. The minimum temperature dipped to 3 degrees higher than Sunday at 17.2 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has forecast that there may be light to moderate rain or thundershowers on Tuesday as well. A warning has also been issued for hailstorm or thunder squalls and it is expected that windspeeds exceeding 45 kmph lash the city in the next 24 hours.

The department has also predicted that the weather will start clearing from Tuesday.
