Rakesh Singh, a 1978-batch IAS officer, today took charge as chief secretary of Punjab from SC Aggrawal.
Singh, who was serving on deputation with Union government as additional secretary finance and was appointed chief secretary of Punjab on March 14, has a rich varied experience on different assignments, an official release said here.
Singh has served in Punjab as MD Punjab Khand Udyog, deputy commissioner of Ferozepur, MD Sugarfed and MD Punjab Agro among other assignments.
Singh comes to Punjab after nine years of deputation with the Union government where he worked on different assignments, mainly in the Union finance ministry.
Aggrawal demitted office to take oath of chief commissioner of Right to Service Commission, Punjab.
