MKV Rama Rao has taken over the charge of managing director of the Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL), a release said here on Tuesday.
An HPGCL spokesperson said Rama Rao had worked in various capacities at the coal- and gas-based thermal power stations and corporate office of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). He has an experience of more than 35 years in the field of power generation, and regulatory and commercial aspects.
Prior to taking over as the HPGCL MD, Rama Rao was working as executive director (commercial) at the NTPC corporate office in New Delhi. He was the head of the Faridabad Gas Power Station for two years during 2008 to 2010. Under his guidance, the power plant had achieved a record plant load factor (PLF) of 85% which was the highest since inception.
The spokesperson said Rama Rao was responsible for early revenue realisation of more than Rs 70,000 crore per year for the NTPC.
