Consumer Federation of Ration Card Holders ( CFRCH) lodged a complaint with UT adviser KK Sharma alleging non-distribution of food grains by the owner of a Fair Price Shop (FPS, ration depot) in Khajeri village during the month of May, and diverting grains of previous months in the black market.

Federation president Rajinder Kumar Gupta said they had been receiving many complaints from ration card holders saying they were not getting food grains regularly as per their entitlement and retail issue price from their FPS M/s Aggarwal Karyana Store. “There is also a general complaint that the fair price shop owner is issuing lesser quantity of food g rains and people are sometimes forced to pay excess rate than the fixed price,” he added.

Consumer Federation of Ration Card Holders urged the adviser to direct officials and officers of the department of food and supplies to make immediate alternate arrangement for distribution of food grains and levy sugar to all ration card holders in their presence for the month of May. All sales and stock registers/ration card registration registers of fair price shop M/s Aggarwal Karyana Store, Khajeri, be taken in custody for verification and doorto-door checking, members said.

Gupta also requested that the locks of the shop be legally opened and food grains and records pertaining to their distribution be seized.
