After it announced the first list of 62 candidates for the forthcoming assembly polls in the state, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) faced rebel trouble with party’s senior leader and Rania MLA Krishan Kamboj quitting the party on Sunday while alleging wrong ticket distribution.

Sources said Kamboj would join Gopal Kanda’s Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) soon and may support Gobind Kanda, HLP candidate from Rania segment. Kamboj said he felt betrayed and the party high command has tried to “divide the Kamboj community”.

Addressing a press meet at his residence in Rania, Kamboj said he had worked hard for the party and in Rania segment for the last 5 years, but he did not get his due.

“I feel cheated and deceived by the INLD leadership on the issue of distribution of assembly poll tickets,” he said.

Kamboj has once remained a confidant of INLD leader Abhay Chautala. He said he will not resign as legislator. The Rania MLA said he will take the next step after getting advice from his supporters and will oppose the INLD candidate from Rania segment.
