UT adviser Vijay Dev on Wednesday inaugurated an online appointment system for the evening outpatient department (OPD) at the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16.
With an average footfall of 100 patients a day, the evening OPD that was started on August 13 to facilitate patients, who could not avail themselves of the morning OPD services, has proved to be a hit.
As per data compiled by the UT health department, around 1,700 patients have attended the evening OPD to date.
It has five consultants in as many specialties — medicine, orthopaedics, general surgery, gynaecology and paediatrics.
As per the new system, the patients can seek an appointment for the evening hours online. Only five patients, who get an online appointment, will be examined per hour in each of the five specialties.
The online facility can be availed on http://admser.chd. nic.in/gmshonline. It can be used for first-time registration and revisits as well.
Earlier, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research and Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, had launched a similar service.
