Giving details of the teaching and non-teaching staff whose services were regularised, Maluka said the services of mathematics teachers (424), Punjabi teachers (649), science masters (155), art and craft (249), library restorers (96), senior lab attendants (168) and lecturers (256) had been regularised.
He also said the services of remaining teaching and non-teaching staff would be regularised by April 6 and their appointment letters would be sent to the district education officers.
The minister said the schools producing good academic results would be honoured during the Independence Day function on August 15.
The Punjab government would also fill vacant posts at the earliest, besides ensuring adequate infrastructure and essential amenities in government schools. The minister also announced summer vacation from June 1 to 30.
