Residents of Labour Colony, Jawahar Nagar Camp, staged a protest against Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), on Thursday, when they had to go without electricity for a second consecutive day.

Residents, including women and children, came out on the street to voice their discontent. Varinder Singh, a resident, said the electricity supply of the area had been perturbed for a week now.

Residents have gone without electricity since Wednesday through Thursday, which is more than 24 hours.

They filed an official complaint, but to no avail. In absence of electricity, the water supply also got affected which drove people to protest with empty buckets.

Technicians arrived within an hour for repairs after the protest reached the PSPCL office.
