Rose festival concludes with more competitions and performances

Cultural function, performances and competitions marked the conclusion of the three-day Chandigarh Rose Festival at Rose Garden, Sector 16, on Sunday.
City mayor, Poonam Sharma was the chief guest at the prize distribution function. She gave away prizes to winners of various competitions, participants of cultural events, band parties as well as gardeners.
She lauded the efforts of all the team to make the Rose festival a success despite a rainy day on February 20.
On the third day, a musical evening 'Old is Gold' was organised by the municipal corporation where
Sarvjit Singh, finance secretary, UT was the chief guest. During the evening, Vivek Pratap Singh, commissioner, Gurbax Rawat, deputy mayor and other councillors and senior officers of MC were also present.
During the musical evening, 11 singers presented old movie numbers with orchestra while the musical band enthralled the public with their performance on a live show.
