The ongoing dispute between a Hallomajra resident and former deputy mayor and councillor Satish Kainth ended with a compromise on Wednesday.

Charanjit Singh Kohli had alleged on Tuesday night that he was thrashed in Hallomajra complex by the councilor, who had recently joined BJP, over a parking issue.

He also alleged that the councillor only manhandled him but also pulled his beard, besides tossing his turban during the altercation.

On Wednesday, the residents of Hallomajra gathered in front of Sector 31 police station, demanding a case be registered against the councillor.

Later, Kainth reached the police station and had a counselling session with Kohli, held between the parties where they entered into a compromise.

SHO Bhupinder Singh said that they had submitted a written compromise so no case has been registered in the matter.

Meanwhile, the councilor, Satish Kainth said that he was not drunk and the matter was related to parking of trucks in Hallomajra for loading and unloading of parcels stored in complainant Kohli’s warehouses.

He said that the residents had been facing a lot of problems commuting in the area when the trucks were parked and it was discussed earlier that loading and unloading should been done after 9 pm.
Kainth said that on Tuesday night, he learnt of the problem and called Kohli but he did not engage in any brawl with him.
