A high-level monitoring committee, Haryana on Monday approved two schemes of Rs 120 crore for augmenting the water supply to Hisar and Hassanpur,in Palwal district, under the 13th Finance Commission Grants.
An official release said the meeting was held for the review and approval of the projects and schemes of several departments for the utilisation of 13th Finance Commission Grant-in-aid,as provided by the government of India, for the period 2010-15.
Principal secretary, finance, Sanjeev Kaushal apprised the committee about the grants made available to the state by the government of India, the actual status of their utilisation and the implementation of schemes and projects related to this.
He said both the schemes would be completed in a period of three years and the water supply would be augmented to 135 LPCD in both the places as compared to 120 LPCD at present in Hisar town and 55 LPCD in Hassanpur town. A sum of Rs 112 crore would be spent for augmenting water supply in Hisar town and Rs 8 crore in Hasanpur town.
