A sum of Rs 44.78 crore had been collected by the special teams constituted for the recovery of pending electricity bills in operation circle Ambala, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Sonepat, Rohtak and Jhajjar, a spokesperson of the nigam said here on Thursday.
Over Rs 28 crore had been recovered from consumers in urban areas and over Rs 16 crore from consumers in rural areas, he said.
The directors and chief engineers of the nigam had been appointed as nodal officers for each circle for the monitoring of the recovery process, he said.
These officers would ensure prompt rectification of incorrect bills and other consumers-related issues, the spokesperson added.
