In a major breakthrough in the Rs 8 crore daylight robbery at Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi, a police team from Delhi have arrested three men from SAS Nagar.
Those arrested have been identified as Praveen, Tilak Raj and N Gulzar, residents of Chattarpur, who were nabbed from near Fortis hospital here.
According to officials of Delhi police, the accused were nabbed on a tip-off. The accused, according to the police, were on the run after the robbery and were on their way from Dalhousie to Chandigarh when they were apprehended.
The police also claimed to have recovered part of the money from them but the quantum of recovery is yet to be disclosed.
According to information, two teams of Delhi police conducted the raids at various places at SAS Nagar and had even sought help of Chandigarh police, though the SAS Nagar police were not informed about the operation.
According to the early reports, 12 teams of Delhi police were conducting raids in different parts of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
