RSS volunteers take out march in Kurukshetra

Nearly 650 volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) took out a march in the town on Saturday. The volunteers in their uniforms who were carrying 'lathis' on their shoulders started from Gita Niketan School and returned to the starting point after making a round of the town.

Nearly 650 volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) took out a march in the town on Saturday. The volunteers in their uniforms who were carrying 'lathis' on their shoulders started from Gita Niketan School and returned to the starting point after making a round of the town.

Different units of the parade were led by musical bands. Some volunteers also displayed their 'lathi' skills while two groups of about 100 volunteers blew trumpets.

Regional in-charge of Haryana RSS, Bharat Bhushan said 650 volunteers dawn from 262 educational institutions are participating in a 20-day training camp here, which would conclude on June 21. He said volunteers are being given physical, mental and intellectual training. He added that Lt Gen PN Hoon (retd) would be the chief guest while executive member and chief Parcharak of RSS, Indresh Kumar would deliver keynote address at the concluding function on June 21.

As per Indian Cultural Research Centre director Himmat Singh Sinha, the number of trainees used to be over 200 earlier, but with the advent of the Modi government at the Centre, 650 volunteers have arrived this year.
