The PIL filed by a local NGO in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in which it had sought an enquiry by CBI into the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case would be heard for final disposal on April 19.
A division bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice A G Masih, while hearing the petition, today directed Haryana and Chandigarh administration to present the complete record pertaining to the enquiry conducted by the then DGP R R Singh into the case.
It also directed the administration to place on record the file pertaining to the promotion of Former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore, convicted in the case, to the rank of DGP.
The PIL had been filed by World Human Rights Council through its chairman Ranjan Lakhanpal.
The bench further directed that the report by Sub Divisional Magistrate (South) Chandigarh, Prerna Puri, into the expulsion of Ruchika from a private school here and the action taken thereupon, be also placed on the record of the case.
The PIL had earlier sought strict action against the management of the school for expelling Ruchika on illegal grounds.
After spending close to six months behind bars, Rathore -serving an 18-month sentence in the Ruchika molestation case, had been granted bail by the Supreme Court last year.
Ruchika, 14, a budding tennis player, committed suicide three years after being molested by Rathore on August 12, 1990.
